ASADHA POORNIMA – DHARMA CHAKRA DAY 2021

Greetings from the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC)
IBC is organizing the Asadha Poornima - Dharma Chakra Day global celebrations on July 24 2021. The day is the second most sacred day for Buddhists worldwide commemorating the Dharma Chakra Parvattana the first sermon by Buddha to the five ascetics at the ‘Deer Park' in Sarnath, India.


As part of the celebration, the programme includes planting the sapling of the Holy Bodhi tree by the Hon’ble President of India at the Rashtrapati Bhawan (President Palace), live prayers and ceremonies from Mulagandha Kuti Vihara, Sarnath, the very site of the first sermon as well as Lumbini and Sri Pada temple in Nepal and Sri Lanka are also being arranged. We will also be joined by the supreme leadership of Buddhist Mahasangha in respective countries offering the blessings and sharing their wisdom.


A special “Asadha Dharma Talk” is also organized as part of the programme on this auspicious occasion.
