A Press Conference took place between the Indian Delegation and the Vietnamese Sangha leaders where the essence Holy Buddha Relics from India was described. Hon’ble Shri KirenRijiju conveyed a meaningful message on behalf of the Hon’ble PM Shri Narendramodi and the people of India. The Government of Vietnam expressed their gratitude to India for bringing the same.

Hon’ble Shri KirenRijiju, participated in the United Nations Day of Vesak (UNDV) celebrations in Vietnam which centered on reinforcing the strong cultural and spiritual ties between India and Vietnam, particularly through their shared Buddhist heritage. He highlighted the deep historical connections between India and Vietnam through BuddhaDhamma. He underscored the significance of the exposition of the sacred Buddha relics in Vietnam.

The inauguration of a vibrant exhibition of Vietnamese culture dazzled with pomp and tradition, featuring stunning performances and heartfelt unity. Honoured by Sangha members from India, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, the Philippines, and beyond—a true celebration of shared heritage and spiritual harmony.

In the spirit of deepening mutual cooperation and advancing the shared ideals of compassion, wisdom, and peace as enshrined in the teachings of the Buddha, Head of Indian Delegation in Vietnam, Shri KirenRijiju along with SG, IBC and DG, IBC signed a declaration with the President and Vice President of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha VBS for the official launch of the Vietnam Chapter of the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC).

This is a momentous occasion between IBCWorldOrg and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha. Representing IBC is Secretary General Shartse Khensur Jangchup Choeden Rinpoche and Director General Mr. Abhijit Halder.

More than 2000 delegates from across the world participate in this grand event themed on “Buddhist Approach to Unity and Inclusivity for Human Dignity: Buddhist Insights for World Peace and Sustainable Development”.

On behalf of Hon’ble rashtrapatibhvn Smt. The exposition of the holy Buddha relics in Vietnam has seen rising crowds each day. Pilgrims from all corners of the country are traveling to Ho Chi Minh City to receive the Buddha’s blessings. Tomorrow is the final day in Ho Chi Minh.

Shri Ramdas Athawale, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, visited the IBC exhibition stalls today as part of the UNDV 2025. Subsequently, senior sangha members of the IBC executive committee also visited the same.

CG HCMC attended the enshrining ceremony of Holy Relic of Lord Buddha held at Ba Den Mountain in Tay Ninh province on 8 May 2025. The ceremony was witnessed by Most Venerable Monks from India, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and from several other countries as well. Provincial leadership of Tay Ninh also graced the occasion. A large number of devotees thronged the venue to welcome the Holy Relic. It is the national heritage of India. Bringing it from India for exposition during UN Vesak Day celebrations in Vietnam is a glaring example of India’s deep rooted friendship and robust bilateral relations with Vietnam.

Long queues of people from Hanoi and the surrounding regions were seen in the late night of May 13 and the early hours of May 14, as they gathered to pay obeisance to the Holy Sarnath Relics of the Buddha on the first day of their display.

As the Holy Sarnath Relics of the Buddha entered the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi on 13 May 2025, around 5 lakh people had gathered on the streets to welcome the sacred relics. Emotions were high with many weeping and praying while others chanted aloud.

The city of Hanoi came to a standstill as large throngs of crowd from Hanoi and across Vietnam gathered today (May 14) outside the Quan Su Pagoda to pay their obeisance to the Holy Sarnath Relics of the Buddha. The mood of festivity and the excitement in the air is something people of Hanoi have not seen in a long time, as the crowd chanted - 'the Buddha has arrived'.

On the evening of 14 May, H.E. Mr Tran Hong Ha, Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam visited the Quang Sa Temple to pay his respect to the Holy Buddha Relic. Venerable Seewali Bhante from Mahabodhi Society of India is seen interacting with him.

On 16 May, H.E. LingRinpoche visited Quang Sa Temple, Vietnam to pay respects to the Holy Sarnath Relic of the Buddha. He offered prayers and joined a special ceremony, highlighting deep spiritual ties across Buddhist traditions. Warmly welcomed by monks and devotees.

Comparative Buddhist art history exhibition curated by India's National Museum, on display at Tam Chuc pagoda, draws similarities in images, sculptors, monastic architecture complementing spiritual connections between India and Vietnam over 1500 years. Standing Vice President of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and friends of India inaugurated the exhibition yesterday that cites Bac Ninh, Ha Nam, Quang Binh, Quang Nam (Dong Doung), Soc Trang, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, etc. All are welcome to see it at the ground floor of the Holy Buddha Relics Hall at the Tam Chuc pagoda.

The Holy Sarnath Relics of the Buddha have arrived at Bai Dinh Pagoda, Vietnam, from Tam Chuc Pagoda for exposition. Safeguarded by the Government of Vietnam, the sacred relics were welcomed by a large gathering of devoted followers.
